Rep London is a three year employability and volunteering programme which will leave a legacy of young people who will thrive in education and employment through the development of key skills, raised aspirations and the acquisition of community/business skills. The programme will work with schools across five of the Host Boroughs and provide a unique package of private sector, public sector and cultural modules. Rep London is working with some of the best blue-chip ELBA member companies to deliver modules including Citi, Deutsche Bank, Societe Generale, UBS, and Qualcomm. Rep London is supported by National Lottery funding through the Olympic Lottery Distributor.
The young people taking part in Rep London are being prepared to be London Ambassadors during the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. ELBA is working in partnership with the Mayor’s scheme to ensure 200 young people who are on the Rep London programme will be London Ambassadors on the only pod in London that will be solely manned by young people (with adult supervisors). Young people taking part in Rep London will also get to volunteer at One Movement events. These events are neighbourhood style festivals that will introduce and increase sporting participation to young people in the host boroughs.
