FSA : Goals and Aspirations

Module Description:
Aspirations are the road maps that guide you and show you what is possible for your life. The FSA’s Aspirations and Career workshop helps students think about their own aspirations and how to apply them to a career in the future. The workshop features fun, interactive exercises to get students involved and to start thinking about what they want to do in the future. The workshop also helps students to think about possible careers and the path they will need to take to get there – the fundamental element being that the key to making your aspirations reality is ambition and drive.
Company Profile:
The Financial Services Authority (FSA) is an independent non-governmental body, given statutory powers by the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. We are a company limited by guarantee and financed by the financial services industry. The Board sets our overall policy, but day-to-day decisions and management of the staff are the responsibility of the Executive Committee. We are accountable to Treasury Ministers and, through them, Parliament. We are operationally independent of government and are funded entirely by the firms we regulate. Our main office is based in Canary Wharf, London, with another office in Edinburgh and we employ just under 4000 people.
"The school group from Our Lady's sixth form were very well-mannered, ambitious and confident in terms of their aspirations and ideas" (employee volunteer, FSA)
"I learnt today that you should not give up and keep trying because if you want and work towards it you can achieve it" (student, Bsix Sixth Form)
"The module was inspirational and motivating to students. I understood everything clearly and learned various topics such as how to plan ahead. I can relate to what I learnt and want to achieve in the future" (student, Bsix Sixth Form)
