A group of students from Rep London got to go behind the scenes at one of the world’s leading advertising, marketing and PR agencies, Ogilvy, on a day-long branding project on 6 April.
The students worked alongside top creatives to come up with a name and brand image for a series of large-scale sports festivals, organised as part of ELBA’s In the Parks project. The festivals, funded by the Olympic Lottery Distributor, will provide an exciting mix of music, dance and sport, and will offer young people the chance to try a whole host of new sports across the Olympic Host Boroughs. Students on the branding day were tasked with coming up with an image that will appeal to 11-19 year olds, and also fed in their ideas on how to build a buzz around the events using social media.
Erica Chamberlain, Rep London's programme manager says, ‘[B]eing able to work on a branding project with a top international agency like Ogilvy is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and our Rep London students have had a fantastic day. We were really keen to have young people involved in designing the look and feel of these sports festivals from the very beginning, and the group have come up with some great ideas.’
