We are recruiting a diverse group of over 600 young people from across the 5 Olympic Boroughs. There will be 3 schools from each of the boroughs, a total of 15 schools. Groups will be made up of 15 young people and an additional year group will be recruited each year for the 3 years of the programme. The offer is open to Year 10’s through to 6th formers (14-19). We are asking schools to select the most appropriate year group targeting those with a good standard of literacy and numeracy; those who are keen and enthusiastic with ambassador potential and those who this project will greatly impact. To ensure that the students selected are eligible for a potential volunteering opportunity at games time and beyond they must be aged 16 by January 1st 2012.
Each school year group will attend a minimum of 4 modules a year and our aim is to retain the same groups over a 2 to 3 year period of the programme. We will be working closely with the schools academic year and diary; we will be requesting suitable dates from the schools at the start of the academic year and a Service Level Agreement will be signed to ensure that the project is well managed. Schools will then receive personalised timetables for each year group with details of which modules they will be attending and information on the companies who will be running them.
The modules available over the programme will build skills such as: Teamwork, Negotiating, Presenting, Interview and CV skills, Sales, Networking, Health and Safety, Customer Service, Personal Safety, Leadership, Basic Finance and Advertising.
